Many of my projects so far have touched upon human connection with physical place, as I continue to explore my journey from childhood in the midlands, to the south, and then up to the very north of England. Photographic series such as ‘rooms’, ‘peripheral strangers’ and ‘safe as houses’ draw directly on my family album but also reflect wider themes such as notions of home and belonging.
In recent years other media have come into use, developing my explorations in new and unexpected ways. But my use of a camera persists, and so I am also embarking upon a period of postgraduate research relating to photographic practice.
